There’s been lots of talk about things going viral lately. Many people assume that getting something to go viral is just word of mouth on steroids. However that’s not really the case.
Word of mouth is casual, yet the active sharing of brand – positive or negative experience with a good or service. Virality is causal, yet the passive compound effect of interconnections being maxed out.
Word of mouth doesn’t scale. Virality does.
