This show was so high tech they even had a computer on the show, but it looks more like a keyboard and a television with some lights on the side of it. I do remember an episode when Sam spilled hot chocolate all over the keyboard and everyone got mad. Although I don’t remember how the whole keyboard issue was resolved.
Belle and Sebastian
The cartoon, not the band. (although I wonder if the band was named after this cartoon.. probably not, but maybe)
Hey Dude!
Watch out for those man eating jackrabbits and that killer cacti! Also Melody was hot in that show.. I think she is married to Ben Stiller now.
Pinwheel
It was kinda like Sesame Street…but watching it now, more like Sesame Street on crack.
And Then there is this whole musical number about weeds from the show Pinwheel…make your own connections with this one.

You Can’t Do That On Television
“Blue skies.. Barthy Burgers..Girls” This show used to be on constantly as a kid. I think Alanis Morrisette was even in a few of the episodes.

Stuart Murdoch named the band after an early song he wrote, which most likely was based on the book or the television show, or both, Belle and Sabastian.
The bio of their website alludes to it and there are multiple popular press articles that claim the origin of the name is with the above mentioned book and show.
PS. Based on the caliber of the band I refuse to watch the youtube video.
