Microwave zaps germs on sponges, study finds.
If you use sponges in the kitchen and want an easy way to make sure they are all clean and germ free after using them. It sounds like you can just pop them in the microwave for 2 min and kill 99% of the germs living on it.
Just make sure you dont put those metal scrubbie things in there, I’m pretty sure that would be like putting a pot in there. (not that I’ve ever done that on accident when I was younger.)
[Update: Make sure if you try this the sponge is wet. If you put a dry sponge in the microwave I guess it has the chance of starting on fire and making your entire house smell like burnt tires. Unless you’re into that sorta thing, then by all means just do it dry.]
